Vision

Our vision is to invite Christians from around the world to come and pray in this beautiful and extremely strategic location. Over the past six decades, the christian population in Bethlehem, the birthplace of Jesus, has dropped to just under 6%. We invite you to come and stand with them, and all Christian’s from around this region, and pray for unity of spirit.

The prayer room is located on what was once known as one of the three main biblical routes in Israel and is situated right in front of the separation wall (the wall that separates Israel from the Palestinian Territories). Directly on the other side of the wall, sits Rachel’s Tomb, a religious and historical site for the Jewish race. Rachel was known as the “mother of Israel”.

This is a place dedicated to hosting the Holy Spirit in the region and gives Him space to move in power and be poured out on all people. It is not a loyalist or nationalist space, nor does it hold a political stance. It is a safe space for Christians who have a heart for reconciliation and unity to come and proclaim His promises.

We believe the room is a plumb line to God and His plans, and has a strategic role to play in the mandate of the Isaiah 19 highway. Our vision is to be part of the healing of this land, and partner with the promises set out in Isaiah 61 v 4 - to rebuild, restore and renew.

In years to come, we know that the prayer room will be seen as a historic move of God, one that was used powerfully in bringing walls down, first in hearts and minds of people and finally, physically.

History

The prayer room in Bethlehem is a response to a prophetic invitation that God gave to Deborah Paul, a Scottish born woman. Deborah became involved in the region after receiving many prophetic words. She has visited the region on numerous occasions and has a heart for reconciliation. Her desire is to love and serve both sides, as Jesus would.

Having just returned from one of her trips to Israel and the West Bank in 2018, God spoke to her about opening a room in Bethlehem that would “host His presence” and be seen in years to come, as a historic and prophetic move of God, one that would bring walls down, first in peoples’ hearts and minds and finally, physically.

Deborah reached out to her friends at 24-7 Prayer, Glasgow Prophetic Centre and First Sebring Church in Sebring, Florida. Through generous donations raised, a room in a small guesthouse was converted into the most beautiful prayer space.

A team set out in March 2019, along with two extraordinary artists, and the room was painted, furnished and completed.

The prayer room was opened with a small dedication service on the 30th March 2019.
